Maryville University of Saint Louis
The College of Arts and Sciences
Maryville University is a private coed university located in Town and Country. The school was founded in 1872 and is one of the oldest private institutions in the region. Maryville offers:
- more than 90-degree programs at the undergraduate level
- 17 master’s programs
- 5 doctoral programs
Students come from 50 states and 47 countries. In 2016, US News & World Report ranked Maryville University of St. Louis as the 161st best National University. The school is home to more than 6,400 students including:

There are more than 2,700 online Graduate Nursing Students enrolled. The Saints compete in the NCAA Division II of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC). In the spring of 2017, the men’s lacrosse team became Maryville’s 21st NCAA championship sport. The College of Arts and Sciences offers graduate and undergraduate programs in:

Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
The BA in Psychology degree program provides students with a strong foundation in theories and issues of contemporary psychology with applied, practical experience. Students can choose bachelor’s degree programs in:

Missouri Baptist University
The Psychology Department
Founded in 1964, Missouri Baptist University is a private evangelical Christian university located in Creve Coeur. In August 2002, the Missouri Baptist College was officially renamed Missouri Baptist University. Missouri Baptist offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. Enrollment is about 4,800 students on the main campus as well as satellite campuses in the Greater Saint Louis area.
In 2016, US News & World Report ranked Missouri Baptist University as Tier 2 for Best Midwest Regional Universities. The main campus is located in Western Saint Louis County. The Spartans participate in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics in the American Midwest Conference. The Men’s Lacrosse team participates in Division II of the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association in the Great Rivers Lacrosse conference. The Women’s Lacrosse team participates in the National Women’s Lacrosse Conference.

Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Psychology
The Psychology program combines empirical science, theory, and practice to prepare students with skills required to critically observe and evaluate mental processes and behavior. For both the BA and BS degrees students are required to complete 39 credits including the following coursework: 3-6 credits of Mathematics, 27 Core required Psychology credits and 3 credits from each of the following:

Missouri Southern State University
The Psychology Department
Missouri Southern State University is a public coed state university located in Joplin. Founded in 1937 as Joplin Junior College, Southern State University became a four-year college in 1968. In 2016, US News & World Report ranked Missouri Southern State University as Tier 2 for Best Midwest Regional Universities. Undergraduate enrollment is over 5,500 students.
The Missouri Southern Lions play in NCAA Division II in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics League. The Lions varsity team includes seven men’s and seven women’s sports. The various sports programs have produced more than 250 All-Americans. In addition to athletics, there are over 70 student organizations. The Psychology Department is located in the Health Sciences building.
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Psychology
The Psychology Department provides students with an education in the diverse field of Psychology. Students can pursue a BA or BS degree program. Although both degrees have the same general education and psychology requirements, the BA requires foreign language requirements. The BS program requires math or science coursework.
The program maintains an emphasis on research. This helps prepare students to effectively analyze, synthesize, and present information about the science of behavior and mental processes. It allows students to develop critical thinking and communication skills to be successful in their career. The curriculum prepares students with a core foundation required to pursue advanced degrees in a variety of areas in psychology.
Almost 50 percent of recent graduates have entered master’s or doctoral programs while others enter careers in:

Missouri State University
The Psychology Department
Founded in 1906, Missouri State is a public coed university system comprised of four physical campuses. The main campus is located in Springfield. Additional campuses are located in West Plains and Mountain Grove (Missouri) and Dalian, China. It is the second-largest university in Missouri. It has an enrollment of over 22,000 students represented by 50 states and 83 countries.
Students can choose from 85 majors that lead to 185 undergraduate degree programs as well as more than 45 graduate programs. There are also certification and doctorate programs available. In 2016, US News & World Report ranked Missouri State University as the 64th best Midwest Regional University. Students can join more than 300 campus organizations.
The Missouri State Bears varsity sports teams participate in NCAA Division I athletics in the Missouri Valley Conference for all sports except Football. The Bears Football team competes in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision. The Bears teams have made 52 NCAA championship appearances since moving to Division I in the 1982–83 season.
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Psychology
Students at Missouri State can pursue a BA or a BS degree. Students enrolled in the Psychology program will gain the experiences and skills to strengthen necessary critical thinking and investigative abilities. Both the BA and BS degrees require 34 credits for completion.
Additionally, Bachelor of Arts students are required to complete:

- six hours of fine arts

Founded in 1870, Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) is a coed public university. It’s part of the greater University of Missouri System. The university is located in Rolla and offers 97-degree programs in 39 areas of study including:
