The forensic psychology field involves applying psychology to the legal system. Forensic psychologists work in many capacities, providing counseling and evaluation of individuals in the legal system. They provide expert testimony and consult with legal professionals including lawyers and judges. Forensic psychologists study the psychological and behavioral aspects of the criminal offender.
Curriculum for the dual major is designed for students interested in careers in psychology or criminal justice. The dual major prepares students to enter graduate programs, including law school and clinical psychology. The dual major is also an excellent choice for students who want to pursue careers in law enforcement and human service fields. The program can be completed in as little as four years requiring the same number of courses as tradition single major degrees.
